London, 29 April (IANS). Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met Indian business representatives and big industrialists in Britain. During this time, he interacted on new opportunities to work and progress together for India and Britain.
Commerce Minister is on a five -day visit to London, Oslo and Brussels this week to strengthen India’s trade and investment relations with the UK, Norway and the European Union.
Goyal wrote on X (first Twitter), “Met at dinner with Indian business representatives. In the conversation, more cooperation opportunities were discussed with the UK for strong growth and mutual prosperity of our industry.”
He also met Al Cook, CEO of De Beers Company and his team to know the new trends around the world in the field of gems and jewelery.
The minister said, “We talked about ways to make it durable and the possibilities of moving forward,” the minister said.
Goyal also met Revolute President Martin Gilbert. During this time, he spoke on the importance of working with international companies to promote big opportunities in India’s Fintech sector, innovation and development.
Earlier, Goyal gave Britain’s Business Minister J.K. Met Rrenolds. He discussed further negotiations between India and Britain on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The Indian minister described the meeting with his British counterpart as part of the commitment to deepen India-Britain economic relations.
After the meeting, Goyal wrote on X, “I have reached London for a two-day intensive discussion with the aim of strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations. In his first program, a meaningful meeting with Britain’s Business and Trade Minister J. Rrenalds held a meaningful meeting to pursue talks on free trade agreement, strengthening our commitment to India-Britain economic relations.”
The trip aims to finalize the talks on the proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to be held between India and Britain, as this dialogue is now in its last phase.
India and the UK want the conversation on the proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to be completed soon as the American tariff may cause difficulties to international trade.
