There is big news for UPI users. From June 16, there is going to be a big change in the UPI rule. Let us tell you that the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has announced an important update in the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system, which will be applicable from June 16, 2025. According to NPCI, the time will decrease in the reaction of UPI transactions after the new change. According to the information given, the time taken to check and reverse the transaction will be reduced from 30 seconds to just 10 seconds. With this change, the process of sending and receiving money through UPI will become much faster and smooth than ever.
Payment will be done in just 15 seconds
According to NPCI, the response time of request pay and response pay service will be reduced by 30 seconds to 15 seconds. In addition, the time required to verify a address will be reduced from 15 seconds to 10 seconds. The purpose of these updates is to ensure that the UPI transactions are faster. NPCI has asked banks and payment service providers (PSPs) to update their system to follow the new time.
Trouble came 3 times in 15 days
This update came after the problem in UPI transactions in April. The UPI transaction across the country was badly interrupted on April 12, which was the third incident in less than a fortnight. Earlier, on 26 March and April 2, there were problems in UPI transactions. After this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had instructed all the concerned parties to work together to remove infrastructure deficiencies, to improve the final user experience and cyber security structure. Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is a quick payment system, developed by RBI regulated unit NPCI.
