Sikar, 19 June (IANS). Private drivers have expressed happiness over the annual toll pass decision of Union Road Transport and Highways Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari and said that this will help in saving money.
Speaking to the news agency in Sikar, Rajasthan, a private vehicle owner, Nasir Bisayati said that this is a good initiative. This will greatly benefit private drivers traveling long distances. This will also save time and also benefit economic. If the private vehicle living within a radius of 60 km also gets some relief, it will be even better.
He said that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has improved the poor roads of rural areas. Also, many decisions have been taken in the interest of the common man.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Wednesday that the annual toll pass will help the common man to save up to Rs 7,000.
Explaining in detail the Union Minister said, “You are allowed to do 200 trips under the annual toll pass. A trip means crossing a toll. For example, if you spend 50 rupees on a toll, you will have to spend 10,000 rupees for 200 trips. At the same time, Annual pass is being given for only Rs 3,000. One such common man will be able to save up to Rs 7,000.”
Gadkari said, “Annual toll pass is only for national highways. It will not apply to roads with jurisdiction of the states.”
On behalf of the Union Minister, on the social media platform ‘X’ said, “Under a historical initiative, a fastag -based annual pass is being started from 15 August 2025 to Rs 3,000. This pass will be valid for one year or up to 200 visits, which will be valid.”
The Union Minister further wrote in the post, “This pass has been specially prepared for non-commercial private vehicles (cars, jeeps, vans etc.) and it will make it possible on the national highways across the country. To renew the annual pass, soon the highway travel app and the websites of NHAI / MORTH will be provided a separate link, which will provide a different link, which will be simple and easy.”
