New Delhi, March 31 (IANS). The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting recently stated that the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (Waves) 2025 ‘to be held in Mumbai on May 1-4 in Cosplay and Entertainment Industry is set to highlight India’s growing creative talent (Creative Talent).
The Ministry has announced the Waves Cosplay Championship with Creators Street, Epico Con, Telangana Government, ICA Indian Comics Association, MEAI and TVAGA, called India’s most prestigious Cuplay Competition.
The objective of this event is to promote India’s growing entertainment and creativity and innovation in the AVGC-XR sector.
India’s most skilled coSplalers will compete together in this championship, which will compete in a grand program, which will perform their talent in costume design, performance and character portrait.
These categories will include Indian mythology, pop culture, anime, manga and more, which will provide an opportunity to the participants to gain global identity.
Participants will be evaluated by the industry’s famous experts, international guests and professional Csplayers.
The contestants will have to undergo a jury selection process, in which the good performance will move forward in the live finale.
The winners will be crowned victory based on major decisive norms such as craftmanship, creativity and performance.
Earlier this month, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that the Government of India will set up a $ 1 billion fund to support the economy of the creators.
In a high-level session at Waves 2025 on 13 March, Union Minister Vaishnav emphasized the importance of providing a platform to content creators to develop high-value material.
He highlighted that the union of creativity, media and technology is giving a new look to the global media scenario.
Union Minister Vaishnav said, “The combination of creativity, media and technology is changing the world’s media scenario and reaching a new level of betterment.”
Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said on 13 March, “Waves will serve as an important platform for media and entertainment industry to promote discussion, cooperation and innovation.”
