New Delhi, 2 July (IANS). Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Wednesday that the government is working to modernize Indian postal operations, streamlined costs and strengthen the appearance in rapidly developing e-commerce ecosystem, converting it into logistics powerhouse.

The minister told IANS, “The department has reorganized itself in six verticals and four horizontal to focus on profitability, cost-evidence and technical progress.”

Scindia said, “To carry forward this change, we have appointed a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the first time in the history of Indian post.”
The Union Minister told IANS, “For the first time in history, the Chief Technology Officer has been appointed in the postal department. A deputy chief technology officer (CTO) has also been appointed with every vertical. In every vertical, we are watching our cost structure. Get. “
He said that we are also deploying India Post with a new service, because not in India, no distribution platform in the whole world does not have so many touch points as Indian posts. The Indian post has 1,84,000 touch points. For this reason we want to convert this institution into a logistics powerhouse.
Additionally, the Union Minister said that today more than 46 percent of the world’s digital transactions are in India and the number of these transactions is 1.7 billion per year. The value of these transactions is 3 trillion dollars per year. This figure shows that India is not a follower, but has become a leader in digital transactions.
On the completion of 10 years of Digital India, the Union Minister compared it to the Industrial Revolution and said that there was an industrial revolution about 100 years ago, in which the world was built in the world, in the same way, there has been a digital revolution in the country in the last 10 years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only predicted this digital revolution 10 years ago, but also made a strategy for how the country would move forward in this digital revolution.
