New Delhi, 12 April (IANS). WhatsApp, a popular messaging app owned by Mata, went down to many users in India on Saturday. WhatsApp users had trouble sending messages and uploading status.
According to the app outage tracking platform down detector, “81 percent of the users complained of having trouble sending messages, while 16 percent of users filed a complaint about the overall app experience. “
A user on X said, “Is this only happened to me or your WhatsApp is also down? I am trying to upload the status and it takes a lot of time to do so.”
However, no official statement has been made by WhatsApp about this outage yet.
Some users also informed about similar outage about Facebook and Instagram.
One user posted, “Hey WhatsApp, is the app down? I am having trouble sending the message. Is anyone else having such a problem?”
In the late February this year, a big outage was reported about WhatsApp, due to which users around the world were not able to use the app properly.
Earlier, on Saturday afternoon, there was a similar problem about digital payment through UPI service. Millions of people across the country faced trouble due to outage on popular service UPI.
Obstruction of digital service was seen on almost every online payment platform, due to which the bill payment and business transactions were stuck in the middle.
The NPCI wrote in a post on the social media platform X, “NPCI is currently facing technical problems, due to which UPI transactions are being interrupted.”
On behalf of NPCI, it was further said, “We are working on this problem and will keep updating you. We are sorry for the inconvenience to the users.”
However, after some time the problem of UPI service ended.
