Business News Desk – Registration for Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana has started. The Delhi government had announced this scheme in the budget of 2024-25, under which women above the age of 18 years will be given financial assistance of ₹ 1,000 every month. This scheme has been started with the aim of empowering women and strengthening their economic condition.
Recently, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal said that if his party comes back to power in the upcoming assembly elections, the amount given under this scheme will be increased to Rs 2,100 per month. Delhi Assembly elections are to be held in February 2025. This scheme is being considered an important step to woo women voters. To avail the benefits of Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana, women must be residents of Delhi and it is mandatory for them to have a voter identity card with Delhi address.
Eligibility for Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana
The beneficiary must be 18 years or older as on December 12, 2024.
This scheme is mainly for women between 18 to 60 years.
Who is not eligible?
Not all women are eligible under this scheme. Women of these categories cannot apply for the scheme.
Present or former government employee.
Current or former MP, MLA or Councilor.
Women paying income tax.
Women who are already taking pension under other schemes of Delhi Government like old age pension, widow pension or disabled pension.
How to apply?
To avail the benefits of the scheme, women will have to show their voter ID card. All eligible women voters of Delhi will be given the benefit of the scheme. This scheme is an important step to bring economic stability in the lives of women and meet their needs.
