Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) scheme has not only become a medium to give national and global identity to the traditional feature of every district of the state, but has also proved to be a strong paragraph of self -reliance for millions of artisans, craftsmen and entrepreneurs.
CM Yogi’s ‘ODOP’ scheme, where many states of the country are adopting, on the other hand, ODOP products are also being appreciated in the world. To strengthen this, the Yogi government has included 12 new products in ODOP, which will make its mark in the country and the world. The Yogi government has already included 62 products in different districts of the state in ODOP, while this number has increased to 74.
MSME Secretary Pranjal Yadav said that CM Yogi’s ‘One District, One Product’ scheme is being discussed all over the country. Various states liked this scheme. This is the reason that he has also implemented CM Yogi’s ODOP scheme in his states. The result of CM Yogi’s foresight is that the traditional characteristics and industries of every district of the state have got recognition in the national and international markets. This has not only given employment to local craftsmen and entrepreneurs, but the state’s economy has also got new energy.
The MSME Secretary informed that on the instructions of CM Yogi, 12 new products from different districts of the state have been included in the ODOP. It includes Agricultural Implementation and Related Accessories of Baghpat, Hosiery Products of Saharanpur, Firozabad’s Food Processing, Ghaziabad metal products and textile and apparel products, metal and wooden handicraft of Amroha, Petha Industries and all types of footwear of Agra, Metal Products of Hamirpur, Hamirpur’s Metal Products, Bareilly Products, Eaal Products, Food processing of Pratapgarh, brush of Bijnor and products associated with it and Sattu of Ballia etc. are included.
The Yogi government has so far given a global identity to many traditional products under the ODOP scheme. In this, Banaras saree, Bhadohi’s carpet, Kannauj’s perfume, Agra’s shoe, Aligarh’s Tala, Wood Curving of Saharanpur, Agra’s leather product and marble work, Bareilly’s Zari-Zardozi, Swarnakari, Bamboo Bet, Banjore’s Kthi Kastha have made a new identity on the world table.
All these products not only strengthened local identity, but their exports have also increased manifold.
District Magistrate Nidhi Gupta Vats of Amroha said that Dholak and readymade garments of Amroha were already included in ODOP products, now metal and wooden handicrafts have also been included. In this, Amroha and its products will get new identity in the country and abroad. With this, Amroha will also move towards rapid development. The Yogi government’s ODOP scheme is ensuring a strong contribution in the direction of self -reliant India. It is playing an important role in making the state a ‘one trillion dollar economy’.
The Yogi government took various steps to identify ODOP products on the world stage. Under this, craftsmen have been provided training, loan and marketing assistance. With this, these products were transported to global markets through exhibition, fairs and e-marketing. At the same time, special attention was paid to export promotion, packaging, branding, GI tagging and design development etc. under the supervision of District Magistrates. This increased the competitiveness of the products and the investment and industry in the state got a new pace.
