Aakriti Chopra, co-founder of online food delivery company Zomato, has resigned from her post. She worked in Zomato for 13 years. Zomato has given information about this resignation in its stock exchange filing. The company said – In accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations, we would like to inform that Ms. Aakriti Chopra has resigned. Aakriti has resigned to pursue her other interests. His resignation has become effective from September 27, 2024. She remained with the company for 13 years. During this time, he played a key role in establishing and expanding the legal and finance teams in his previous role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Zomato.
Many resignations have already taken place
Gunjan Patidar, another co-founder of Zomato, had also resigned in January last year. At that time she was working as Chief Technology Officer. Earlier in November 2022, another co-founder Mohit Gupta had also parted ways with Zomato.
How were the June quarter results?
Zomato’s net profit has increased manifold to Rs 253 crore in the first quarter of the current financial year 2024-25. The company’s profit in the same quarter a year ago was only Rs 2 crore. Operating income increased by over 74 per cent to Rs 4,206 crore in the first (April-June) quarter of the current financial year, from Rs 2,416 crore in April-June last year. Total expenditure increased to Rs 4,203 crore in the quarter, from Rs 2,612 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
Zomato share situation
On Friday, the last trading day of the week, Zomato shares closed at Rs 278.25. The stock closed down 1.97% compared to a day earlier. The all time high of the share is Rs 298.20.
