Deepinder Goyal wrote a letter to shareholders
In a letter to shareholders in February, Deepinder Goyal, founder and CEO of Zomato, said that our board has approved this change and I request my shareholders to support this change too. If and when it is approved, our corporate website will turn from zomato.com to Eternal.com. We will also change our stock tick. Goyal also said that the company’s decision to change the name publicly was in accordance with the Blinkit becoming an important driver for the future.
When we acquired the blinkit, we began using the internal ‘eternal’ (instead of zomato) to differentiate between the company and the brand/app. We also thought that we would publicly change the name of the company to eternal, the day something will become an important driver of our future beyond Jomato. Today, with the blinkit, I think we have reached there. We would like to change the name of Zomato Limited, Company (Brand/App) to Eternal Limited.
