The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made major changes in the 10th and 12th course. These changes have been made keeping in mind the new education policy. This will make the study method easier and students will get skill development opportunities. In the new course, skill -based subjects have been made mandatory for students of class 10. CBSE has directed all schools to implement new courses. Students of 2025-26 to tenth grade will be able to take board exams twice a year. The first exam will be held in February and second in April. Class 12 examinations will be conducted only once a year.
Changes in 10th course
1. A new rule has been added for students of class 10th. They have to select one of three skill -based subjects – computer application, information technology or artificial intelligence -. That is, children will have to learn some skills related to computer.
2. One has to choose one of English or Hindi as a language subject. They can read it in class 9 or 10. 3. If a student fails in the main subject such as mathematics, science, social science or any language, it can be replaced with the skill theme or alternative language subject passed in the end result. That is, if you have failed in a subject, then you will have another chance to pass.
Changes in 12th letters
1. Four new skill-based topics have been included in the syllabus of students of class 12. These include Land Transport Associate, Electronics and Hardware, Physical Activity Instructor and Design Thinking and Innovation. This will promote practical and business skills.
2. Mathematics, Social Science, Humanities, Language subject, Science, Skills subjects, General Studies and Health and P.H.E. Changes were made in (physical education).
Grading criteria were also changed
CBSE has also changed the grading criteria of 10th and 12th. Now the 9-Bindu grading system will be used to prepare the result, where the digits will be converted into grade.
The method of teaching will change
CBSE has instructed schools to teach subjects according to the new board syllabus. CBSE believes that these changes will reduce the habit of rote in students and will help them understand things better. A new strategy will be adopted for the study of students and students.
1. Project based teaching: The solution to practical problems will be explained.
2. inquiry based education: Research, analysis and question will be encouraged on various subjects.
3. Technology competent education: AI based equipment, digital platforms and e-learning resources will be used.
4. Change in teaching method: Teachers will continue to change their method to meet the new requirements of teaching.
