The overall campus placement of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Goa was 83 percent. The average salary package of BTech students was Rs 8 lakh per annum. While the best salary package was Rs 20 lakh per annum. This information was given by Omprakash Jaiswal, Director, NIT, Goa. He was speaking at the convocation ceremony of the institute. Jaiswal said, “I am happy to say that more than 120 companies visited NIT Goa for campus placement for BTech and MTech students of 2023-24. More than 40 companies made offers to NIT Goa students. Despite the global recession and lack of jobs around the world, our students have performed well.”
According to a Times of India report, Jaiswal said that a big highlight of this placement season was that public sector undertakings (PSUs) like MECON and BSES came for campus placements and some students were selected by them. He said, ‘Many of our students are already working in reputed PSU companies like BEL and BPCL. Almost 100% of MTech students were offered internships in renowned multinational companies like AMD, Global Foundries, Intel, Qualcomm, Smart SoC, Dell, Bosch.’
He said that 12 out of 17 students of MTech VLSI have got job offers from companies like Intel, Marvel, Synopsys and Cadence. In MTech, Marvel company offered the highest package of Rs 35 lakh. The average package was Rs 20 lakh.
Jaiswal said that three out of seven MTech students of Computer Science Engineering branch got confirmed jobs in companies like Dell, Infineon, Thinkseed Systems during the internship itself. The highest package among them was 19 lakhs and the average package was 14 lakhs.
A total of 207 students were awarded degrees at the convocation. A total of 166 students were awarded BTech degrees, while 28 were awarded MTech and 13 students were awarded PhD degrees. 10 medals were also given to the toppers for outstanding academic performance.
