Education News Desk!!! Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has recently decided to suspend the examination of Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer. This decision has been taken in view of the performance of the students and the issues raised by them. Students expressed a lot of concern regarding the conduct of the examination. Especially as opposed to the normalization process, which is applicable when the examination is conducted in more than one shift. Students say that if the examination is conducted in two shifts, normalization process will be adopted, which may harm good students. They argue that the difficulty level of question papers may be different in different shifts, which will affect the result. In such a situation, the students demanded to take the examination on the same day and in the same shift. Let us know whether the candidates will have to apply again after the postponement of the exam.
History and reasons for examination
This year, in January 2024, UPSC released the notification for the RO/ARO exam, stating that the exam will be conducted on March 17, 2024. However, it was later postponed and rescheduled for the month of October. After this, the previous exam was canceled due to paper leak. These incidents spread disappointment among the students and they took to the streets and protested.
The commission said this
In this matter, UPSC said that they do not have enough centers available for such a large number of candidates. The Commission also clarified that they have already conducted a large number of examinations, but due to the prevailing circumstances they had to take this decision. Finally, considering the demand of the students, UPSC has decided to postpone the RO/ARO exam and now it will be conducted in a single shift. This step has been taken keeping in mind the interests of the students, so that their concerns can be addressed.
