The language lab has started functioning in the Madan Mohan Malaviya Department of Technology. It has been established for the students of B.Tech first year. It is being run by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. This course of four credits is compulsory for all the students of B.Tech first year.
Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Sudhir Narayan Singh said that in the first semester, classes are being conducted for students of Electronics and Communication, Electronics (IoT), Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering. The training of students of Computer Science, IT and Civil Engineering will be done in the second semester. To keep the ratio of students balanced, it has been decided to complete it in two semesters. 30 computer systems have been installed in the lab. In this, 30 students will be able to learn English through digital medium simultaneously in this state-of-the-art lab.
It has been scheduled that two lectures, one tutorial and two practical classes will be conducted in a week for the students of the prescribed semester in the language lab. For this, 8 teachers of the Humanities department have been trained.
A state-of-the-art ‘language lab’ has been set up for first year students. This four-credit course is compulsory for them. Its classes have begun. If students are strong in English speaking, they will get placement on a better package.
