The Higher and Technical Education Department has started the process of making changes in it. The final approval will be taken from the Cabinet.
After this change, Jharkhand Eligibility Test will be conducted on OMR sheet instead of Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
Apart from this, on the lines of National Eligibility Test (NET), the age limit restriction of the candidate is also being abolished in Jharkhand Eligibility Test.
Request for making two major changes in the rules
The Department of Higher and Technical Education had provided the rules and regulations to JPSC for conducting JET.
Only after this the Commission had requested to make two major changes in this rules and regulations, which has been accepted by the Higher and Technical Education Department.
This proposal of the department will be approved in the cabinet meeting. After this, the way will be paved for the appointment of 2404 assistant professors in the state.
The age limit of the candidate is abolished
Regarding age limit, presently it is mentioned in the rules that the age of the candidate for JET should not be less than 21 years on 1st August of the requisition year.
Also, the maximum age of the candidate will be as per the reservation category wise age limit determined by the State Government (Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language) from time to time.
The Higher and Technical Education Department has now decided to improve it and end the compulsion.
