The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed the upcoming CA final, intermediate and post qualification course (INTT AT) examinations due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan. The official notice issued by the institute stated that – “In view of the stressful and unsafe atmosphere in the country, the remaining examinations of the CA Final, Inter and Post Qualification Course (INTT AT) are being postponed between 9 May 2025 to 14 May 2025.
Status so far:
CA Final Group I examinations have been held on 2, 4 and 6 May. Group II examinations were scheduled to be held on 8, 10 and 13 May, which has now been postponed. – CA Intermediate Group I examinations have been held from 3 to 7 May.
Group II examinations were scheduled to be held on 9, 11 and 14 May, but now they have been postponed.
Why were the examinations postponed?
The situation between India and Pakistan became very tense on 7 and 8 May when Pakistan performed heavy shells on the border villages of Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, drone and missile attacks were also carried out by Pakistan on the night of 8 and 9 May, which were seen in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan.
In response to these attacks, India launched a strategic operation called ‘Operation Sindoor’ by targeting 9 terrorist bases located in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). This action was taken in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 tourists lost their lives.
