Delhi 200 new PGT positions: Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has given a big good news to the youth waiting for teacher recruitment. He has approved the recruitment of 200 new posts of PGT (Postgraduate Teacher) in Delhi. In a statement issued by Raj Niwas, it has been informed that these posts are for Secondary and Higher Secondary level and will be filled on regular basis in government schools under the Directorate of Education, Delhi.
These posts will come under Pay Matrix Level 8, with a salary range of Rs 47,600 to Rs 1,51,100. The development aims to enhance the quality of education in government schools in the capital.
The newly sanctioned posts will strengthen the existing workforce, ensuring that the inclusive education policies of the government are effectively implemented in line with the Right to Education Act 2009, the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 and the National Education Policy 2020. At present, more than 9,500 students with disabilities (CwD) study in Delhi government schools from class ninth to twelfth. 301 posts have been approved for these students, but out of these, teachers are working on only 283 PGT posts.
The announcement explained that the decision is based on a collaborative evaluation process conducted by the Directorate of Education in consultation with the Administrative Reforms, Planning and Finance departments of the Delhi government.
The Governor has also stressed the need to immediately fill the vacant posts in government schools across Delhi through examinations conducted by DSSSB.
