Kolkata. Educationist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk says that the Kovid-19 epidemic has shown the country that there is a need to give equal emphasis on online and offline mediums of teaching. The character of Phunsukh Wangdu, played by actor Aamir Khan in the film ‘3 Idiots’, was based on Wangchuk’s life.
Wangchuk, founder of the Student Educational and Cultural Movement in Ladakh, said the government needs to make “huge” investments in the education sector and set up the necessary infrastructure for online education.
Environmentalist and social reformer Wangchuk said in a press conference that if the best lectures of various courses are accessed through the Internet, it will benefit the students. He said that Kovid-19 has given an opportunity to give equal emphasis on both online and offline medium of teaching. He said that all educational institutions in general should work as a laboratory of innovation and students should think out of the box. The educationist praised the new education policy 2020.
