Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal Singh Gurjar has recently announced that free tablets will soon be given to the students of class 10th to 12th across the state. Not only this, free internet and pre-loaded content will also be made available for better preparation.
Replying to a question during the budget session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, the minister said that the government has decided to procure five lakh tablets. These tablets will be given to the students studying in class 10th to 12th in the upcoming academic session. For this, a total of Rs 620 crore will be spent on buying these tablets.
Free internet data and pre-loaded content for respective classes
Minister Kanwar Pal Singh Gurjar said that by May this year, students would be provided with free internet data and tablets with pre-loaded content for the respective classes. The objective of the scheme is to bridge the economic inequality gap to enable digital education to the majority of the children studying in government schools. This scheme has been started to enable children especially from economically weaker and disadvantaged sections, who are not able to buy devices like smartphones and tablets, to get education through digital medium. The Education Minister said that digital material, e-books, various types of test videos and class-wise syllabus related study material will be available on the tablets related to government schools’ curriculum.
Big announcements made for the school and medical education sector in the budget
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Manohar Lal’s government has allocated Rs 1,104 crore for technical education, skill development, Rs 8,925.52 crore on health and medical education, Rs 20,445 crore on education, sports and arts sector in the budget announcements for 2022-23 for the state. Provision has been made for expenditure. Apart from these, subject wise Olympiads will be started for the students of class 8th to 12th and prizes will also be given. At the same time, under the School Health Card, 25 lakh students will be medically examined twice a year. As per the budget announcement, new medical colleges and nursing colleges will be opened in Palwal, Charkhi Dadri, Panchkula and Fatehabad. Apart from this, Chief Minister Manohar Lal has talked about opening a medical college in every district. Due to which 3,035 doctors will pass out annually in the state.
