77 years after India’s independence, the remote village of Shilli Gram Panchayat located in Banjar subdivision of Kullu district finally found the road on Friday. The long-awaited road, which connects the village to the surrounding areas, is ready to provide very important relief to the residents by making transport easier and more efficient, the road construction process started in 2018.
The villagers have thanked the state and local administration for meeting the long -standing demand. The road, which is expected to benefit about 900 residents of the panchayat, will not only make transport easy but will also promote tourism in the region.
Known for its natural beauty, this region has immense possibilities of eco-tourism. Gully located in the picturesque pilgrimage valley is famous for its apple production. At an altitude of 8,700 feet, it is home to the Bhendi Thach Cricket Stadium, a famous site for the annual cricket tournament in April. Now with the construction of the road, it will be very easy for players and tourists across the state to reach the stadium, which is only 20 minutes walk from Garuli village.
