A new initiative has been taken to promote research and patents in Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, which is among the top 100 universities of NIRF. Now the university will give an incentive of Rs 2 lakh for research publication in journals like Nature or Science Academic Journal of American Association or Harvard Business Review. There is a plan to place it in the Vidya Parishad, Finance Committee and Management Board. It will get a concrete shape after getting approval from all three committees. Research publication and patent play an important role in making a place in NIRF and QS World Ranking. Keeping this in mind, the Vice Chancellor had constituted a five-member committee under the chairmanship of Dean Student Affairs Prof. VK Giri about one and a half months ago. The committee included Prof. Vihval L Gole, Prof. BK Pandey, Prof. Jeetu Singh and Deputy Registrar Devendra Goswami. The committee had to determine how much incentive can be given for quality research publication for encouragement. After several rounds of meetings, the committee has prepared its report and submitted it to the university administration.

According to the recommendations of the committee, the world’s most prestigious journals like Nature, Science Academic Journal of American Association and Harvard Business Review have been placed in Category 1. Outstanding Researcher Award will be given on publication in this. Under this, an incentive of Rs 2 lakh will be given.
