Anil Uncle! Anil Uncle! Every Sunday IAS Anil Kumar peeks from his balcony on hearing the voice of a dozen children. He calls the children to him. He teaches these children the alphabet, ABCD, stories and solving math problems. These children are garbage, paper and plastic pickers. Every Sunday these children come in groups to Anil Kumar Shri Jha’s residential complex at Gola Road and study. How did he get the idea? On this he says that it was an incident of 2014. One day he saw in his balcony that these children were hiding to escape from a person. After the person left, he called the children and spoke to them. An eagerness for studies was visible in some of the children.
Idea Diary gave national recognition to children
Nishi Kumari of Khusrupur, Patna used ideas like Idea Diary, Idea Box to teach children to think and understand out of the box. She made the students develop the habit of writing one idea every day. As a result, the children got selected at the national level in Inspire standard. They also visited Japan and ISRO under Science Congress and Sakura program. This gave national recognition to her students.
Watered with limited resources and also connected with technology
Kaimur’s Sikendra Kumar Suman nurtured children with limited resources. He also connected them with technology. He made the best use of the resources available in the school. There were just three rooms. Their appearance had to be changed and it was converted into a kindergarten. Today, everything from smart class to ICT lab is available in this room.
