Maulana Azad National Urdu University (Manuu) was established in 1998 through an Act of Parliament by the Government of India. The university is located in Hyderabad, Telangana and is named after the freedom fighter and the first Education Minister of India Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The main objective of the establishment of this university is to promote higher education through Urdu language and provide educational opportunities to Urdu speaking communities.
