Union Labor and Employment Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has given good news for those looking for jobs. He has revealed that e-commerce company Amazon has signed an important MoU with the Ministry of Labor. This will ease the way for job creation in the country. He also informed that the company has already promised to provide jobs to 20 lakh people in India by the end of 2025.
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said, “Ministry of Labour and Amazon have signed an important MoU. The National Career Service Portal of Ministry of Labour is becoming very popular. More than 33 lakh establishments i.e. job providing institutions are connected on a single platform and crores of people who want or need jobs are also connected to it. This MoU is important because Amazon is a global technology platform and through this platform jobs are available in many sectors like IT sector, e-commerce and event management, skills, manpower and others. Amazon has publicly stated that by the end of 2025, the company will create 20 lakh jobs in India.”
What is MOU?
MOU is called Memorandum of Understanding in English. It means Memorandum of Understanding, which is a non-binding agreement between two or more parties. It outlines mutual understanding or agreement. It is often used as a first step towards a formal contract. No party is bound to fulfill the promises made in the MOU. However, fulfilling its terms makes the path to an official agreement between the two parties easier.
