Right to Education Act Admission: Right to Education Act (RTE) Under 2009, the last date of enrollment in 25 percent seats reserved for academic session 2025-28 has been extended.

Earlier this date was scheduled 31 March 2025, but now it has been extended till 10 April. This decision has been taken as per the instructions of District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, so that more and more needy children can take advantage of this scheme.

Under Section 12 (1) (c) and departmental notification number 237 (16.02.2016) of the RTE Act, 25 percent seats in the admission class of non-aasted private schools (except minority schools) have been reserved for weak and underprivileged children.

The purpose of this decision is to provide free and compulsory education to children who lack economic resources and are unable to study in private schools at normal fees.

Who will get the benefit

Under the RTE Scheme, those children will get an opportunity to enroll, who reside in a radius of 6 km of the school and whose family comes in the economically or socially weaker sections.

The benefit of this scheme will be mainly given to the children of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Extremely Backward Classes, Backward Classes and Minority Community. Apart from this, 40 percent or more disabled children and orphans (Children with Disability and Orphans) will also be eligible under this scheme. Families have been included in the category of weaker sections whose annual income is less than ₹ 72,000.
