Due to Maha Kumbh in Sangam city Prayagraj, many Mahants, Sanyasi and Mahamandaleshwars are being appointed. The coronation ceremony was held at the Digambar Akhara camp on Thursday. Four new Mahamandaleshwars were appointed as part of the ceremony. These also include the youngest Mahamandaleshwar Swami Siyaram Das, who is 18 years old. He is the successor of Mahamandaleshwar Swami Ramdas Tatambari.
Along with him, Swami Anmol Das, Swami Nandsharan and Swami Bajrang Das were also honored with the post of Mahamandaleshwar. When he was being made Mahamandaleshwar, the slogan of Jai Shri Ram kept echoing in the premises and the sages and saints present there blessed everyone. Before the coronation, all three reached Digambar Akhara with the insignia of the band of Ani Akhara.
The saints and sages of Nirmohi, Nirvani and Digambara Akharas anointed all four saints to the post of Mahamandaleshwar. Among all the Mahamandaleshwars and Mahants appointed so far in this Mahakumbh, the youngest Mahamandaleshwar is only Siyaram Das. On this occasion, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Ram Santosh Das, Mahamandaleshwar Vaishnav Das, Mahamandaleshwar Bhagwat Das, Gopal Das and other saints, mahatmas and disciples were present.
left home at 13
It is said that when Siyaram Das was only 13 years old, he left his family and adopted the life of a saint. Siyaram Das, who became Mahamandaleshwar, is originally from Madhya Pradesh. In adolescence, he became the disciple of Shri Mahant Ramdas Maharaj Tatambari Baba of Digambar Ani Akhara. Seeing so much talent at such a young age, he became the most favorite disciple of Tatambari Maharaj.
Mahamandaleshwar built in five years
Now he was made Mahamandaleshwar in Mahakumbh and Baba also made him his successor. His Pind Daan etc. was performed only after his retirement. At the age of 13, when Siya Ram Das reached Tatambari Baba, he saw the little boy and said – This child is very intelligent, he will have to be made a saint. He kept Siyaram Das with him and continued to impart knowledge of religion and spirituality to him. Then after five years he made Mahamandaleshwar his favorite disciple.
