In Sitamarhi, Bihar, a father -in -law strangled his own daughter -in -law to death. After this, to hide the dead body, he dug up a seven feet deep pit in a dry lake away from the village. The incident took place on Tuesday night in Temhua village of Pupri police station area.
The deceased has been identified as Kanchan Devi (22), wife of Indrajit Rai. The Pupri police, taking prompt action, have taken the deceased’s mother -in -law and father -in -law Rambharos Rai into custody. He is being questioned.
On receiving information about the murder on Wednesday morning, Pupri Police Station Inspector Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh, SI Manoj Kumar reached Temuha village with Dal Bal. The police questioned the in -laws and the locals. With the help of a local watchman, the police reached the place where the body was buried. After this, the information was given to the senior officer.
The body was taken out by digging the pit.
CO Pupri Ramkumar Paswan was appointed as magistrate to remove the body from the soil. In the presence of the magistrate, the body was taken out of the soil. Round black marks have been found on the woman’s neck. Due to which it is feared that he has been strangled to death. Police have taken the body and sent it for postmortem.
Run away from her in -laws
The deceased’s mother Indu Devi said, “We married our daughter a year ago in Chorout. After two months of marriage, Indrajit Rai, a resident of Temua village, kidnapped her in -laws. She married Kanchan and kept her with him for eight months. The second husband’s father Rambhrosse Rai called us and told us that your daughter had committed suicide. Your daughter had committed suicide.
Police Station Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh said that Rambharos Rai was interrogated after getting information about the incident. He said that the body of the woman was buried by digging a pit in a pond in the field. After this the body was found in the pit.
The questioning of the mother-in-law is going on.
In this regard, DSP Atanu Dutta said that the cause of death will be revealed in the post -mortem report of the deceased. Her in -laws are being questioned. Further action will be taken based on the family’s statement.
