Now the MTech degree will be same in engineering colleges across the country including MIT. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued instructions in this regard to the principals of engineering colleges and vice-chancellors of engineering universities. This change regarding the MTech degree will be implemented from this session. Now the student’s branch and subject of specialization will also be mentioned on the MTech degree. AICTE has said that uniformity is being brought in the MTech degree under the new education policy.
MTech is taught in ten colleges in Bihar. Apart from MIT, these include engineering colleges of Bhagalpur, Nalanda, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Katihar, Gaya, Bettiah, Supaul and Araria. This time, students will be able to do MTech in six subjects in civil, mechanical, electronics and electrical branches in MIT.
Now this is how you will get MTech degree. The name of the branch will be written first on the MTech degree. Next to it, the name of the subject of specialization will be written in brackets.
For example, if a student has done MTech in Civil and his specialization is in Transportation, then the degree will first have MTech Civil Branch written on it and then Transportation written next to it. According to AICTE, the new certificate format of MTech will show the specialization of the students. They will not have to tell in any interview in which subject they have specialized. All engineering colleges and universities have been instructed to follow this instruction and send its report.
