Only one fourth of applications for scholarship, last date extended, Career News

The last date for online application has been extended as only one fourth of the registrations have been done as compared to last year for the National Income and Merit Based Scholarship Scheme Examination 2025-26. Online applications were sought till September 5 on the website of the Secretary Examination Regulatory Authority www.entdata.co.in. In its review, it was found that only 48082 students have registered from the entire state. Whereas last year a record 1,85,762 students had applied for the 2024-25 session. Due to this, the last date for application has been extended to September 20.

Director of Psychology Department Usha Chandra said that the time for correction of errors in online application will be from 21st to 23rd September. The examination for class VIII students studying in government, aided and council schools will be held on 10th November in all the districts of the state. In the scholarship examination, students who have passed class VII examination in the academic session 2023-24 with minimum 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC and ST category) and are studying in class VIII in government, non-government aided and local body (council) schools in the session 2024-25 can participate.

Students studying in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sainik School, Government Residential and Private Schools are not eligible to appear in this exam. The income of the parents of such students should not exceed Rs 3.5 lakh from all sources.
