NMMSS 2024-25: The Ministry of Education has extended the last date to apply for the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) 2024-25 to 30 September 2024. This is a golden opportunity for students of economically weaker category to get scholarship. Ability-
1. The student must be a student of class VIII, apart from this the student must have successfully passed class VII with at least 55 percent marks. For reserved category students, 50 percent marks are required.
2. Students who are studying in government and cooperative schools can apply for this scholarship. Students studying in private schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) and Sainik School cannot apply.
3. The annual income of the student’s family should not exceed Rs 3.5 lakh.
4. If the student wants to avail the benefit of this scholarship in higher classes, he/she must secure at least 60% marks in class 10th and at least 55% marks in class 11th.
Exam Pattern-
Students will have to appear for two exams to get the scholarship. The first exam will be Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the second exam will be Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
Application fee-
Students are not required to pay any application fee for filling this scholarship form.
Scholarship Amount-
Students will be given Rs 12,000 as scholarship every year. Earlier this amount was Rs 6000, which was later increased to Rs 12,000.
