The recruitment process for the post of Professor of Practice under NEP 2020 has started in Lucknow University. For this, the Registrar has sent a letter to all the deans and heads of departments. In which he has asked to send clear recommendations as per the requirement for the post of Professor of Practice in the departments. Let us tell you that earlier the proposal of Professor of Practice has been approved in the Academic Council meeting.
Spokesperson Prof. Durgesh Srivastava said that professionals with extraordinary achievements and experience will be called as professors in the university. Their number of appointments will not exceed 10 percent of the total sanctioned posts. Will be posted for one to three years. In exceptional circumstances it will not exceed four years. Professors of Practice can be people who are not teachers by their original occupation nor do they have a prescribed qualification like PhD or UGC NET for teaching work in a university. UGC wants to improve the level of higher education by providing entry to practitioners, policy makers and skill professionals through POP.
