The Central Government has given the green signal to the recruitment of officers in Railways through Civil Service Exam and Engineering Civil Service Exam. Actually, the government has taken this decision after not getting sufficient technical manpower through IRMS. Let us tell you that the Integrated Railway Service got cabinet approval in December 2019.
Let us tell you that before the approval of the Cabinet of Indian Railway Management Service, only the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) used to recruit railway officers through CSE and ESE.
According to the news of Times of India website, on Saturday, the Department of Personnel and Training said in a memorandum that considering the proposal of the Railway Ministry on Thursday, keeping in mind the needs of both technical and non-technical manpower in the ministry, UPSC CSE and UPSC- Gave in-principle approval for recruitment through ESE.
After discussions with the Department of Personnel and Training, the Railway Ministry has also written to the UPSC Chairman and the Telecom Department on Saturday that it has now been decided that the recruitment through IRMS will be done through CSE and ESE. It has also been said that the Ministry of Telecommunications will be the nodal ministry for ESE, which will notify the rules for it and seek applications by October 8. It has also been requested to the Telecom Ministry and UPSC that UPSC will allow 225 engineers to participate in the recruitment by adding to the existing notification.
According to the letter, now the new recruitment will be called IRMS Civil, IRMS Mechanical, IRMS Electrical and IRMS Store etc. Railway officials say that in this way this decision is nothing but returning to the old system.
