Education News Desk !!! The Supreme Court has rejected all the petitions demanding cancellation of NEET UG exam and conducting a fresh exam. The court said that there is not enough evidence that there has been malpractice in the mass level examination, so it would not be appropriate to conduct the examination again for 24 lakh children. With this, the speculation about the cancellation of the exam has ended. Now a new merit list of NEET UG will be released.
One question and two answers were also solved
The issue of a Physics question also arose in the court in which there was a mistake in two answers of a question. According to the old NCERT, option two was correct and according to the new one, option four. NTA gave marks to the candidates who chose both the options. The court said that NTA itself went against its rules and there cannot be two answers to a question. After this, on the instructions of the court, a three-member team of IIT Delhi was formed, which clarified that only option four is correct. In such a situation, the marks of the candidates who chose option 2 will now be returned and new results will be released.
4 lakh candidates affected
According to media reports, changing the answer to this question will change the result of about 4 lakh candidates. At the same time, the 44 children who chose option two, got grace marks and became toppers, their marks will also be cut, then the toppers list will change. In this sense, if 44 out of 61 candidates withdraw their names, then only 17 students will remain as toppers. The final result is to be released by NTA after accurate details and changes in the rank. This time, out of the 1562 students who have got grace marks, a new list will be released after re-checking the marks of 44 students. That is, the merit will also go up and down and the toppers will also change.
Some results may change
The court has also said that the investigation of the case will continue and if anyone is found guilty later, the result can be canceled, even if counseling has been done or studies have started. The news of paper leak in Patna and Hazaribagh has been confirmed, so there is a strong possibility of change in the results of the candidates of these centers.
What will happen next?
Counseling will start after the new rank list is released and till then the court has given some instructions which will be followed. The court has said that the CBI will continue its investigation until the entire matter is resolved. However, during this time the admission process, counseling will not stop and all the processes will proceed as before. Guidelines will be issued to avoid such problems in future. Apart from this, the court has also asked NTA to release a new revised merit list.
