school closed in odisha: The Odisha government has declared a holiday in all Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools and colleges in the state in view of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow on September 17. PM Modi is going to launch the “Subhadra” scheme in Odisha during his visit.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, all schools and colleges in the Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Region will remain closed on September 17, 2024. A big public meeting will be organized on this day, for which the state government has declared a complete holiday for educational institutes and a half-day holiday for government offices in the city.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the “Subhadra” scheme is the largest women-centric initiative in the state, aimed at supporting over 1 crore women. Eligible beneficiaries aged between 21 and 60 years will receive Rs 50,000 over a period of five years (2024-2029). Beneficiaries will be credited Rs 10,000 annually in two equal installments through Aadhaar-linked, DBT-enabled bank accounts. During the event, PM Modi will launch the first fund transfer to over 10 lakh women beneficiaries.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister will release the first instalment of financial support under PMAY-G to around 13 lakh beneficiaries in 14 states.
