In UP, 12th passed students will be able to do D.El.Ed. Allahabad High Court has removed the condition of graduation for admission. Now the hope of filling all the seats of D.El.Ed will increase. Due to no teacher recruitment for six years, the interest towards D.El.Ed course has decreased. This is the reason that last year, despite the Supreme Court order disqualifying B.Ed candidates for primary teacher recruitment, 70,100 D.El.Ed seats remained vacant in Uttar Pradesh. Whereas the managers of the colleges running D.El.Ed courses were expecting the seats to be full.
Last year, 3,36,187 candidates had applied for admission on a total of 2,33,350 seats, including 10600 seats in 67 District Education and Training Institutes (DIET) of the state and 2,22,750 seats in 2974 private colleges. Of these, only 1,63,250 candidates had taken admission. This is the reason that this year candidates from other states have also been given a chance for admission so that seats do not remain vacant. Online applications for D.El.Ed training year 2024-25 session have started from September 18 and candidates can fill the form till October 9.
