student moves gujarat high court after nta withholds neet result Unable to take admission due to withholding of NEET result, student who scored 106 marks out of 700 reaches court, Career News

NEET UG: The process of knocking the doors of the court of the students appearing for NEET UG 2024 is not stopping. This time a student from Gujarat has reached Gujarat High Court with a complaint against NTA. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has withheld the result of this student on suspicion of resorting to unfair means during the examination. This student had given the medical entrance exam NEET on May 5 at Jai Jalaram International School in Kheda district. The student has appealed to the High Court to order NTA to release his result so that he can take further admission.

The officials and trustees of Godhra-based Jai Jalaram International School are accused of irregularities in the NEET 2024 examination. CBI is investigating this scam that took place across the country. According to the Times of India report, the petitioner student had scored 106 marks out of 720 in NEET. The same score was shown on the NTA website. But NTA stopped its result due to doubt.

The student has requested the High Court to direct NTA to release his result so that he can get admission in a veterinary college in Rajasthan. The student says that he has already paid fees of Rs 2.50 lakh to the college. For admission, he will have to submit his NEET result, which has been withheld by NTA.

Police and CBI have interrogated

In the petition filed in the High Court, the student has argued that he was called for questioning by the local police as well as the CBI. The NTA had issued a show cause notice to him asking why action should not be taken against him for allegedly using unfair means in the NEET exam. In response, it said that its examination center was Jai Jalaram International School, Thermal in Kheda district, and not Godhra, where the irregularities allegedly took place. He also stated that he attempted only 88 questions in the examination and scored 106 marks out of 720 marks, which makes it clear that the petitioner got average marks in the examination and the result was not exaggerated or unexpected as per the merit of the petitioner. .

A single judge bench rejected the student’s plea on August 29. The court had said in its order that if the petitioner’s result is directed to be released and later the petitioner is found guilty of irregularities, then the petitioner’s NEET result can be cancelled. The student has now appealed against the single judge’s order. The division bench will hear the student’s appeal next week.
