Anger of students: Promise of result in 25 days, 45 days waiting for
It was clearly written in the prospectus released by the university that the results would be released within 20 to 25 days of the examination. However, many courses such as English and Arabic UG exams were concluded in the last week of April, and about 45 to 50 days have passed so far but there has been no update about the results. Due to this delay, students are getting mentally stressed, they are confused about their upcoming academic and career decisions. Students say that if the results do not come on time, then the rest of the process of interview, group discussion and admission will also be delayed.
University administration reply: Everything is ‘on track’
In this regard, when the university’s Chief Public Relations Officer (Chief Pro) and Professor Sayma Saeed were questioned, he claimed that there was no delay of any kind and everything is going on at any time. He also said that Jamia is faster in the result process compared to other universities of the country and may take some time due to multi-city exams. Students have expressed their displeasure over this statement of Sayma Saeed. He says that when the date of the result was determined by the university itself, then it is not appropriate to give this type of irresponsible cleanliness.

In the entrance test schedule and prospectus of the university, it was mentioned that the results would be declared within 20 to 25 days after every examination. For example, if the examination of a course was held on May 1, its result should have come to a maximum by 25 May. But now the middle of June has passed, and no concrete update or timeline has been given on the university website. This delay of some courses results is affecting both the career and mental state of the students. Many students have to go out of their cities and prepare to give interviews, for which it is necessary to plan in advance.
Demand and appeal of students
Troubled by the uncertainty of the results, the students have demanded from the university administration to release a certain date to declare the result. Along with this, the possible dates of interview and group discussion should also be given prior information so that students can prepare on time. Apart from this, students also say that if there is any technical or administrative problem in getting the results ready, then the university should issue a public notice and give the right reason for this delay.

Jamia Milia Islamia is counted among the major universities of the country and students expect high level of administrative transparency. If the results of the entrance exam are being delayed, then the university should clearly clarify its position. Staying silent or not giving any information on the official portal, weakens students’ trust. It is necessary to assure students that their future will not be a victim of any systemic delay or neglect. Therefore, the Jamia administration should remove the concerns of the students by giving clear and concrete updates as soon as possible.
