Getting admission in IIM is like a dream come true, but the story of success despite all the difficulties is special. One such story is of Raunak Rathi, a resident of Palanpur, Gujarat. Raunak Rathi has passed the CAT exam at the age of 22. Raunak will now study MBA from IIM Ranchi. Raunak’s journey was full of difficulties. Raunak comes from a family where his father runs a tea shop and his mother runs the house by stitching clothes. Raunak has inspired people with his success. His story has become an inspiration for thousands of children in the country.
In an interview to the website Times of India, Raunak told that he has studied in Gujarati medium till 12th. After this, he did B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Adani Institute of Infrastructure Engineering. He said that in the initial years of engineering, he had no idea about MBA course. But then he started preparing for CAT in the final year of B.Tech. He said that he got scholarship for both engineering and MBA. Raunak has scored 97.68 percent marks in CAT.
Raunak’s father Girish Rathi is very happy with his son’s success. He said that he does not understand much about Raunak’s studies, but he knows that he is doing well. He has dreamed that his children do well in their lives. Raunak’s father usually works 12 hours a day and earns around Rs 15,000 per month. Raunak credits his success to Satish Kumar, an IIM Calcutta alumnus and CAT mentor of an early institute. Raunak said that he now wants to retire his parents from their work.
