Youth will be able to apply for PM Internship Scheme from October 12 by visiting pminternship.mca.gov.in. Before this, the biggest companies of the country have lined up offers for internship. Around 50 companies ranging from TCS and Tech Mahindra to L&T, Apollo Tyres, Titan, Divis Labs and Britannia have made more than 13,000 internship offers to the youth on the PM Internship Scheme portal. Companies can give details of vacant internship posts till October 10.
According to the report of Times of India, so far about 200 companies have registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs itself is looking after this scheme. A target of more than 1.2 lakh internships has been set during the current financial year. Sources have been quoted as saying that Mahindra & Mahindra, L&T, Tata Group and Jubilant Foodworks are among the companies offering the highest number of internships so far. A source said, ‘These internship opportunities will be in various sectors including banking and financial services, oil, energy FMCG, manufacturing, travel and hospitality.’
Key points of the scheme
– Top 500 companies have been included, which will give the youth an opportunity to do internship.
– The list on the website for the scheme has 500 partner companies and includes Reliance Industries, TCS, HDFC Bank, ONGC, Infosys, NTPC, Tata Steel, ITC, Indian Oil and ICICI Bank in the top 10.
– Five thousand rupees will be given every month, out of which Rs 4500 will be given by the Central Government and Rs 500 will be given by the company from CSR fund. Apart from this, a lump sum amount of Rs 6000 will be given.
– Indian youth in the age group of 21-24 years who are not involved in any full time employment or education will be eligible.
– Students studying online and distance will be eligible for the internship program.
– Those whose family income will be more than eight lakh in the financial year 2023-24 will not be eligible.
If any member of the family does a permanent government job, then the youth of such family will not be eligible.

– Those who have graduated from renowned institutes like IIT, IIM, IISER, NID, IIIT, NLU will not be able to apply.
– Youth having CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA and Master degree or higher education will not be able to apply for this.
– Youth receiving skill training under any government scheme will also not be able to avail its benefits.
The list of selected candidates will be prepared between October 27 and November 7. Offer letters will be sent from November 8 to November 25, while the internship of selected youth will start in companies from December 2.
