The Combined State Senior Subordinate Service (PCS 2024) preliminary examination of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission can be conducted on two days, 26 and 27 October. All the District Magistrates were expected by the Secretary of the Commission, Ashok Kumar, to provide consent of examination centers for the examination on October 27, but till now the consent of the required number of centers could not be obtained for the 5,76,154 candidates who have applied.
Due to this, the commission is now considering to conduct this examination on two days, 26th and 27th October, in two shifts (09:30 to 11:30 am and 2:30 to 4:30 pm). In a letter sent to all DMs on 13th September, the secretary has asked the schools which have given their consent for 27th October to also provide their consent for 26th October by 18th September. However, the commission is trying to complete the examination in one day on 27th October.
Strictness in center determination caused hindrance
In the government order issued to maintain transparency in the recruitment examinations, instructions have been given to make only government and aided educational institutions as centers. This is the reason why centers are not being found in the expected number.
