New exam pattern of JEE Main
NTA i.e. National Testing Agency has released the exam schedule for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main 2025) exam. According to this, session 1 examinations will be held between January 22 and January 30. Admit cards for these exams will be released 3 days in advance and exam city slips are likely to be released next week. Candidates who are going to appear for Session 1 examination should keep an eye on the official website.
NTA said that exam centers will be set up for this examination in many cities of the country. Apart from this, 15 exam centers will also be built abroad. After the completion of Session-1 examination, registration for JEE Main Session-2 will start. Let us tell you that Session-2 will be organized from 1 to 8 April 2025.
When will the exams be held?
The first paper for JEE Main exam (BE/B.Tech) will be held on 22,23,24,28,29 January in both shifts (First Shift from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon and Second Shift from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm). Along with this, Paper-2A (B.Arch), Paper-2B
Has there been a change in the exam pattern?
The agency has made some changes in the exam pattern of JEE Main 2025 this year. A revised notification has also been issued for this. According to this, optional questions will not be asked in Section B from both Paper-1 and Paper-2. Now answers to all the questions of Section B have also been made mandatory, a total of 5 questions will be asked in it. Besides, NTM has also started negative marking of 1 in Section B of both the papers.
The agency has announced its decision to discontinue optional questions in Section B of JEE Main 2025. These optional questions started during the Covid-19 pandemic.
What is the new exam pattern
Now according to the revised pattern of JEE Main 2025, there will be no optional questions in Section B. There will be only 5 questions in each subject in JEE Main and students will have to answer all of them, that is, it has become mandatory. JEE Main 2025 syllabus consists of three subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. There will be 3 papers in the JEE Main exam 2025 – Paper 1 for B.Tech, BE, Paper 2A for B.Arch and Paper 2B for B.Plan. 75 multiple choice questions will be asked in JEE Main 2025 Paper 1.
