57.31 percent voting in second phase in Jammu and Kashmir, fate of 239 candidates locked in EVMs

In the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, 57.31 percent voters exercised their franchise on 26 seats. This information was given in the latest report released by the Election Commission on Friday. In this phase, out of total 25.78 lakh registered voters, 13.12 lakh male, 12.65 lakh female and 53 transgender voters were eligible to vote. Among these, the number of voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years who got the franchise for the first time was more than 1.20 lakh. In the second phase, 57.31 percent of the total registered voters came out of their homes to vote. In this phase, voters have sealed the fate of 239 candidates in the electronic voting machine.

Quoting the Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir, the Commission said that 58.35 percent male, 56.22 percent female and 30.19 percent transgender voters voted in the second phase. He said that the voting trend was facilitated at the polling stations on the day of voting. He has confirmed that all the polling parties have returned safely, the scrutiny has been completed in the presence of the candidates/their authorized agents. In the second phase, highest voter turnout was recorded in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi at 80.45 percent and lowest voter turnout was in Habbakadal seat at 19.81 percent.

Know where and how much voting according to seat

Apart from this, 72.18 percent in Kangan (reserved) seat, 57.12 in Hazratbal, 26.09 in Khanyar, 34.15 in Channapora, 30.78 in Jedibal, 36.95 in Idgah, 31.84 in Central Shelteng, 52.27 in Budgam. wow 66.95, 72.08 in Khansahib, 70.27 in Charar-e-Sharif, 57.19 in Chaudra, 73.60 in Gulabgarh (safe), 72.06 in Reasi, 68.82 in Kalakotte-Sunderbeni, 68.82, Naushera 73.05, 70.57 in Rajouri, 70.57, 70.04, In Thanamandi (reserved) 72.88 percent, in Surankot (reserved) 74.94, in Poonch Haveli 74.56 and in Mendher (reserved) 73.56 percent voters exercised their franchise and voted in favor of their favorite candidate.

More than 70 percent voting on 12 seats

In the second phase, 80.45 percent voting took place on one seat, more than 70 percent voting on 12 seats, and more than 60 percent voting on 2 seats. Apart from this, more than 50 percent voting took place on three seats. Voting was less than 40 percent in 20 and 7 seats. The lowest turnout was 19.81 percent in one seat. In Jammu and Kashmir, 61.38 percent voters exercised their franchise in the first phase. Voting for 40 seats for the third phase will be held on October 1. The election results will come on October 8 and the entire election process will be completed on October 10.
