Politics and cricket are called games of ups and downs. It is unpredictable as to when whose star will rise and whose star will go down. A similar story is also of Naib Singh Saini, who took oath as the CM of Haryana for the second time. He had also contested from Narayangarh Assembly seat in 2009, but he was defeated and even his deposit was forfeited. Now the situation is such that he has taken oath as CM for the second time. Veteran leaders like Anil Vij, Ghanshyam Das Arora are included as ministers in his government.
Nayab Singh Saini’s journey is also interesting because his entry into politics was from the same Ambala, where Anil Vij has been winning continuously. In 1996, Naib Singh Saini came in contact with the then RSS pracharak Manohar Lal Khattar. After this he moved ahead in politics. He was made the secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha in Ambala district in 2002. This was the period when Anil Vij had been MLA for several consecutive terms. From this it can be understood how senior an leader Anil Vij is. He first contested from Ambala in 1990 after the resignation of Sushma Swaraj and then continued winning from there. The only exception for him was the 2005 election, when Anil Vij lost.
Saini’s father was in the army and had also taken part in the wars of 1962 and 1971. Law graduate Naib Singh Saini is considered a loyalist of Manohar Lal Khattar. He has been associated with Khattar since 1996 i.e. for the last 28 years. This is the reason why when Khattar stepped down from the post of CM in March this year, Saini was handed over the command on his recommendation. It was believed that this election would be very difficult and the BJP government might be voted off. But with major upsets, BJP formed the government. In this way he has become the Chief Minister for the second time.

He became the District Secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha in 2002. Then he became the District President of Yuva Morcha and later also became the President of Ambala District. In this way, he continued to be promoted in the organization. When he contested from Narayangarh in 2009, his deposit was confiscated, but he won big from the same seat in 2014. During this period, he also remained the State General Secretary for a long time and then during the tenure of Manohar Lal Khattar government, he was made the State President. After this, he was elected MP in 2019 and in March this year, he became the Chief Minister by winning the by-election from Karnal Assembly. Now he has got a chance to become CM again. In this way, from the defeat of 2009 till now i.e. till 2024, he has come a long way.
