Bhupinder Singh Hooda was on target after the defeat of Congress in Haryana Assembly elections. Even after this, most of the MLAs want that they should be given the responsibility of Leader of Opposition. The MLAs also expressed this opinion to the observers sent by the party, which they presented before the high command. Now only the top leadership of Congress will decide whether even after the defeat, Hooda will continue to command the party in Haryana or some other leader should be chosen. These leaders had talked to all the MLAs separately. These people said that Hooda is the strongest leader in the state and he should be handed over the command. Many MLAs said that Bhupinder Singh Hooda led the assembly elections and came out strongly. A meeting of the Hooda camp was also held in Delhi, in which 31 out of 37 MLAs who won from the party attended. This was considered an attempt to show strength on the part of Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Now observers have also presented the report before the high command that Hooda has more support.
MLAs supporting the former CM say that BJP has won in the state for the third consecutive time. In such a situation she has emerged very strong. To compete with such a strong BJP, Congress needs an old leader who has a good base. Bhupinder Singh Hooda is the right leader in this sense. Congress sources say that most of the party MLAs in Haryana are with Hooda and they are not ready to accept any other leader. This was the reason that when he called a meeting at the residence of MP son Deepender in Delhi, more than two and a half dozen MLAs arrived.
