BJP is excited after securing an upset victory in the Haryana Assembly elections. Now in Maharashtra too, BJP wants to intensify the campaign by declaring its candidate in time. This is because she wants to give time to the candidates to create an atmosphere. Apart from this, she also wants time to work on things like organizing events of big leaders and manifesto. In this sequence, a round of meetings has started in BJP so that the candidates can be finalized. The first meeting of the Central Election Committee regarding tickets in Maharashtra was on Wednesday.
In this meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi, 100 tickets were considered. These are the same seats where currently only BJP has MLAs. The party feels that candidates should first be decided on those seats where it has its own MLAs. This is because the repeat MLAs should already be assured that they are contesting the elections. It may take some time for those seats where candidates will be changed. Party sources say that the seats of leaders like Devendra Fadnavis, Ashish Shelar, Pankaja Munde in Maharashtra may already be announced.
There is news that the first list of BJP candidates may be released in the next one to two days. Apart from PM Modi, JP Nadda, Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal and Bhupendra Yadav were present in the meeting held on Wednesday. Apart from these, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule and other leaders from Maharashtra were present. Many ministers of the state government can also be included in the first list of BJP. Apart from this, discussion is also going on on seat sharing. According to the information received so far, there are still differences between BJP, Shinde Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP on a total of 22 seats. Once these seats are divided, the alliance formula can also be shared.
The state president of BJP says, ‘We are first brainstorming on the seats we have won. After this, we will decide the seat sharing formula with Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. Let us tell you that in the 2019 elections, BJP became the largest party by winning 105 seats. Even after this, it could not form the government because Shiv Sena had separated and formed the government with Congress and NCP. But this alliance broke down when Eknath Shinde rebelled along with 40 MLAs. Since then he is the CM of the state and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis remains the Deputy CM. Voting is to be held in the state on November 20 and the results will be declared on 23.
