Haryana Election Result: After Haryana Assembly Elections 2019, Dushyant Chautala of JJP i.e. Jannayak Janata Party became the kingmaker. He was also made the Deputy Chief Minister in the coalition government formed with the Bharatiya Janata Party. Now after 5 years in 2024, the situation is such that neither he himself nor any candidate of the party can win the election. Not only this, the vote share of the entire party could not even cross 1 percent.
shock after shock
Dushyant was holding the post of Deputy CM till a few months before the assembly elections, but the stir in BJP changed all the equations. The alliance of JJP and BJP broke. After this, many MLAs of his party also broke away. The 2024 assembly elections, which are expected to bring him back, also proved to be a big setback for JJP and Dushyant.
bail confiscated
Dushyant, who contested from Uchana Kalan seat of Haryana, finished 5th. He got less than 5 percent votes. He was among the party leaders whose deposits were confiscated. Devendra Chaturbhuj Attari of BJP has defeated Brijendra Singh of Congress by a margin of just 32 votes on the seat. Dushyant also lagged behind two independent candidates Vikas and Virendra Ghoghariyan on this seat. He lost the seat by more than 41 thousand votes.
Not a single JJP candidate could win the assembly elections. Even the party’s vote share had come down from 15 percent to less than 1 percent.
Heritage politics did not suffer a complete blow
Dushyant is the grandson of former CM Om Prakash Chautala and great-grandson of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal. However, family members of former chief ministers Devi Lal, Bansi Lal and Bhajan Lal managed to win. Former CM Bhajan Lal’s son Chandra Mohan won from Panchkula, former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal’s grandson Aditya Devi Lal won from Dabwali, Arjun Chautala won from Rania. Shruti Chaudhary, great granddaughter of former CM Bansi Lal, won from Tosham.
However, Bhavya Bishnoi from Bhajan Lal’s family proved to be a big shock. Bhavya, who was leading from Adampur seat, had to face defeat in the initial rounds. The special thing is that Adampur seat was occupied by Bhajan Lal family for more than 50 years. 14 members of the famous Lal families of Haryana were contesting the elections.
