Former Haryana minister Bachan Singh Arya resigned from the party on Saturday after not getting a ticket from BJP in the assembly elections. Arya, a resident of Safidon in Jind district, expressed disappointment over not being given a ticket by the BJP. On Saturday itself, he filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate from Safidon seat. This time BJP has made former MLA Ramkumar Gautam of Jannayak Janata Party its candidate from Safido. Former minister Bachan Singh Arya lost the 2019 assembly elections by about 3 thousand votes.
Bachan Singh said, ‘I have said this before also. Today the public asked me to leave the party and you must have seen that there was a crowd of 10 thousand people. When I joined BJP, the public itself told me this. People were not satisfied with their work. Also, Jind is not suitable for their working style.’ He said that the people of the area have ignored BJP. Now I am contesting elections on the ticket of the public. They themselves gave me the offer and I have accepted it. The public has to vote. People who have come from outside have never won.
