Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s dream of becoming the CM of the state for the third time has been shattered, but he has managed to perform well on his seat. He has won from Garhi-Sampla Kiloi seat of Rohtak by 71465 votes. This seat falls in Rohtak district, which is considered the stronghold of Hooda family. He was once again in the race to become CM and had reached Delhi even before the results to stake his claim. But since the counting of votes, Congress was continuously lagging behind and now BJP has put fifty on one side while Congress is stuck at 35. There was 61 percent voting in Kiloi. Here Bhupinder Singh Hooda was competing against Manju Hooda, who also comes from the Jat community.
She is the chairperson of the Zilla Parishad and has also been a councilor. Manju Hooda’s husband Rajesh Hooda is a gangster, against whom many serious cases are registered. Manju Hooda’s father Pradeep Yadav, who contested against Bhupinder Hooda, has been a DSP in Haryana Police. It was on the instigation of Rajesh Hooda that Manju made her debut in politics in 2022. Initially she was elected as a councilor, but later she got the opportunity to become the chairman of the Zilla Parishad. After this she joined BJP. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who was the CM of Haryana from 2005 to 2014, had taken charge of the Congress campaign and it is believed that on his instructions the high command has distributed 72 tickets. This is the reason why he was being seen as the CM face.
Due to Hooda’s enmity with Kumari Selja, there has been discussion as to who will become the CM. But considering Hooda’s stature and his power, it was being speculated that he would get the chair. Apart from Hooda, his son Deepender was also being seen as the CM face. Senior Hooda himself also wanted his son to get the command so that he could gain experience under his leadership. But now the results have shattered all their dreams and BJP has scored a hat-trick of victories.
