Amidst the ongoing voting for Haryana Assembly elections, former State Home Minister Anil Vij gave a big statement. He said on Saturday that if the party wants, he will become the Chief Minister. Speaking to the media on the day of voting for the Haryana Assembly elections, Vij said, ‘If the party wishes, I will meet you next as Chief Minister.’ He claimed that the government will be formed by Bharatiya Janata Party only. In response to a question regarding his claiming the post of Chief Minister, Vij said that he never claimed the post of Chief Minister. When the BJP government was formed in 2014, he could still have been made the Chief Minister because he was the leader of the BJP legislature party during the tenure of the Congress government (2009-2014). He had troubled the government for 5 years.
Anil Vij said that even when Manohar Lal Khattar was removed in March and Naib Singh Saini was made the Chief Minister, he did not make any claim on the post. Vij said that later people started saying that being the senior most leader, why could Vij not be made the Chief Minister, then I said that if I am made the Chief Minister, I will change the fate and picture of Haryana. The BJP leader said that even now if the party wants, he will become the Chief Minister because he never postponed any order of the party.
