CM Nayab Singh Saini, who contested from Ladwa assembly seat of Haryana, has achieved a big victory. He won from this seat by 16,054 votes. Leaving Karnal assembly seat, he had decided to contest from here, which proved to be right. This is his fourth seat from where he has contested in the last 5 years. Not only this, BJP is leading on 50 seats in the state and is going to form the government for the third consecutive time. For this also credit is being given to Naib Singh Saini. He became the CM of the state only 6 months ago. In such a situation, only Naib Singh Saini will be given credit for cutting anti-incumbency.
He will take oath for the second time. This has already been indicated by the party. Election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan had said this during the elections, while today State President Mohan Lal Badoli also said this. Naib Singh Saini had won from Narayangarh seat in 2014. After this, he was elected MP from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat in 2019 and then in the same year, after winning from Karnal Assembly, he came to the state house and became the Chief Minister. Now he has contested elections from Ladwa seat. There has not been much criticism of his tenure as CM, but 10 years of anti-incumbency may have an impact on him too.
It is noteworthy that BJP has created history with this victory. This is the first time in the electoral history of Haryana, when the government of any party has returned to power for the third consecutive time. Earlier such record was in the name of Bhupinder Singh Hooda government, which had won two consecutive victories in 2005 and 2009. Now BJP has gone ahead. However, the record of being CM for the maximum number of 11 years is still held by Bhajan Lal.
